1. Anselm Kieffer: Beyond Landscape
2.The history and identity of landscape artwork.
THE GALLERY
1. The lighting was a little bit dimmer than usual, but there was enough light to capture the artwork
2. The walls were white.
3. The art was in giant granite like frames. There were spot lights on the ceiling and some rooms had seats.
4. It was dark and quiet, but plenty of room to really enjoy the experience.
THE ARTWORK
1. I am not sure if I was able to figure out how the artwork was organized.
2. All of the artworks were fairly large of landscapes.
3.The artwork had different artists and different meaning behind it
4. They had large granite like frames.
5. Each work had a title that was framed, some had descriptions and some had audio.
6. Since the landscapes were large works, they were all very spaced out, with many rooms in the exhibition.
ART CRITICISM
Anselm Kiefer's Der Morgenthau Plan, from Germany in 1945 is a beautiful painting of a flower landscape. The dull colors add sorrow to the picture but allows viewers to feel emotion It makes it look like there is a texture throughout. It is Emulsion and acrylic paint on a canvas.
I really enjoy looking in the art gallery when I have a purpose. It makes me actually read about what I am looking at and attempt to interpret it. You really learn to understand the meaning of art by seeing it firsthand.
