- Aesthetics: Philosophy of the Arts
- Aesthetics "is the philosophical study of beauty and art."
- We portray art as simply, 'art', however it is the beauty that makes it art.
- CARTA: Neurobiology Neurology and Art and Aesthetics
- Art is seen through symbols and artifacts for intersubjective communications, but it is not verbal.
- What the brain draws from: Art and neuroscience
- Art is said to come from some sort of objective. When our brains see a familiar object, we make a random interpretation of the piece of work.
- Our brain finds faces in art
2. I think that Plato's theory on art and Aesthetics is most important. He had once said in the 4th century B.C., "There is a beauty in which all things are beautiful." He had thoughts that ideas can only be grasped by reasoning and 'beauty presents itself through beauty. He would make arguments that something beautiful will attract attention. Art usually attracts a great amount of attention.
3. To be honest, I think that Changeux and Ramachandran have thought of art and aesthetics as way to much science. Yes looking at art involves neuroscience, but it is all opinionated. People either like art or they don't. They're ideas take away from that. I thought it was interesting that Ramachandran said that all art is exaggerated to the most extent to please the human brain. Changeux stated that art is a search for harmony. He says art is made with different parts to create a whole.
4. The videos articles and text all relate in the theory behind the philosophy of aesthetics. Beauty has a lot of meaning when it comes to art.
5. The article and the videos were kind of boring to me. However, they did help me better understand the text. I personally can learn better when I can hear the lecture as well as see it.
